- Accurately measure and apply granular and liquid fertilizers according to established protocols and customer specifications.
- Calibrate and maintain application equipment to ensure precise and even distribution.
- Identify and address specific lawn nutrient deficiencies.
- Apply pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides as needed.
- Inspect lawns to assess turf health, identify weed infestations, and diagnose potential problems.
- Evaluate soil conditions and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide customers with information and recommendations regarding lawn care practices.
- Maintain and clean application equipment, including sprayers, spreaders, and tanks.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any equipment malfunctions.
- Communicate effectively with customers, addressing their questions and concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used.
- Provide exceptional customer service and build positive relationships.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies regarding pesticide and fertilizer handling and application.
- Properly store and dispose of chemicals and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all state and local regulations related to fertilizer applications.
- Proven experience in lawn care fertilization and pesticide application.
- Knowledge of turfgrass management, soil science, and pest control.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to operate and maintain lawn care equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 1
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Certification in turfgrass management or related field.
- Experience with specific lawn care software or mobile applications.
- State pesticide applicator's license or ability to obtain one is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of local soil conditions and common turfgrass issues.
